Founded in Trivero in the Biella Alps in 1910, zegna is still a family-run business almost 100 years later, and thus is one of the oldest business families in Italy.
Currently run by the fourth generation of Zegnas, it was founded by Ermenegildo Zegna, whose ambition was to design high quality fabric for use in men s clothing. He did this by selecting only the finest raw materials, and then infusing them with a innovative design process and wrapping the whole package up in relentless marketing.
That proved to be the recipe for success, and the Ermenegildo Zegna Group is now a leading multinational in both luxury clothing and perfumes.
Ermenegildo s sons, Angelo and Aldo Zegna, took over the management of the company from their father in the 1960s and it was they who introduced EDT and EDP into the range, following on from the success of knitwear and accessories.
