In 1910 Dante Trussardi began the business, working initially as a glove maker. The firm was hit by tragedy with the 1999 death if his grandson, Nicolas Trussardi, who had been running the business since 1970. Four years later Nicolas son Francesco Trussardi, who became chairman of the fashion house, also died in a car accident.
Today the Trussardi name is behind fine leather goods and accessories, plus clothing lines for men, women and children.
Designer Jeremy Scott joined the firm in 1997 and the style of the house is of a sober, natural and seductive feel.
