Oscar De La Renta

Oscar De La Renta wound up working in Madrid for Cristobal Balenciaga after leaving home in the Dominican Republic to study painting in Spain.

He went on to work for Lanvin in Paris a few years later and further on he moved to the US.

In America he worked as a designer for Elizabeth Arden and then his own signature label arrived in New York in 1965.

More than three decades on and his label is seen on mens fragrances, womens perfume and even a furnishing range.
