Nina Ricci

Nina Ricci first emerged as an apprentice with noticeable potential who committed herself to life at the design board.

Born in Turin in 1883 she went on to forge a partnership with her son Robert and opened her own Haute Couture House in Paris.

It did not take long to make progress - before the start of the war the Nina Ricci company had 450 workers with 11 floors.

Known primarily for dress design she became famous for being able to reflect the personality of her clients in her creations.

Although the fashion of the time lent towards a boyish look, Ricci tended to edge towards preserving a feminine feel.

Her perfumes soon followed with Nina, followed by Premier Jour and Lair Du Temps, plus a line known as Les Belles.
