Nina Ricci is a fashion house founded by Maria Nina Ricci and her son Robert in Paris in 1932. The mother and son worked as business partner in their Haute Couture House with Robert dealing with the finances and business strategy while Ricci designed and created the fashion pieces. They were very successful in a short time and by the end of the 1930s, the Nina Ricci firm employed 450 workers and had a workshop that spanned 11 floors.
Ricci was not a slave to the fashion of the time which was for androgynous, boyish styles for women, and instead embraced femininity with her creations.
The first Nina Ricci fragrances were developed towards the end of the war, with the perfume Nina being the first. This was followed by the launch of Premier Jour and their most popular perfume line L air Du Temps and then by the Les Belles collection of fragrances.
