Marc Jacobs Daisy created by Alterto Morillas has been designed to bring young women into the Marc Jacobs fold, and from first impressions I must say things look promising.
The packaging and the bottle design are happy and youthful and fits square into place with their target age range; which is 18-24. However that being said, with a bottle that cute who can resist letting those youngsters having all the fun!
The scent itself is actually a very good reflection of the bottle it’s contained in, either that or the bottle reflects the perfume well. Daisy is very light, pleasant and screams youth from the tops of its voice.
Marc Jacobs Daisy opens with a fruity explosion with strawberries and grapefruit, which is stopped from being overly sweet with some more grassy tones.
The heart is of floral’s, as you would expect from a perfume called Daisy! If you haven’t smelt Daisy perfume yet, think summer, better yet a meadow in the summer, the smell of the flora and the scent of all the different flowers intertwining; but without the risk of hay fever.
Its base contains notes of musk and vanilla, more to hold the scent together and rather than over power the rest of the notes.
In summary Marc Jacobs Daisy isn’t a challenging perfume, but then not everyone wants that. What it has achieved is a good scent, that wears well and that’s really what perfume is all about. Personally I like Daisy and think it would be a great day time perfume and if that’s not a good enough reason to buy it then just look at the bottle.
