Kenzo

The Kenzo label refers to the first name of Kenzo Takada, the Japanse designer known for combining traits of his homeland with European themes.

Born in Hemeji in Japan in 1939, he first worked in his home country after graduating but Europe beckoned and he moved to Paris in 1965.

He is known for the unique way he produces elements of the kimono, a traditional Japanese dress, into his trademark designs.

His skills include fine tailoring and he is also a skilled colourist, bringing an element of different cultures and integrating them into designs.
