The brand Kenzo is known by the first name of its Japanese founder Kenzo Takada, who launched the label in the 1970s.
Kenzo studied at Tokyo s Bunka College of Fashion, where he developed his own style, mixing his own Japanese culture with that of European high fashion.
This fusion of Japanese and European styles continues to be evident in his work today, with his designs tending to incorporate elements of Japanese traditional dress, most notably the kimono, into his more modern collections.
Kenzo launched his women s perfume line in 1988 with Kenzo de Kenzo, followed by Parfum d ete; Le Monde est Beau and L eau Par Kenzo. FlowerbyKenzo has since become the most famous of the Kenzo Parfum brand.
