Jean Paul Gaultier Classique was one of Jean Paul Gaultier’s first fragrances. The perfume ‘Classique’ was originally called ‘Jean Paul Gauliter’ when it was launched in 1993 however was changed to ‘Classique’ to distinguish it from the other fragrances that followed. Before Classique was launched Jean Paul Gaultier was a household name. This was due to the large media attention he received due to the costumes he designed for Madonna’s 1990 Blonde Ambition Tour.
Jean Paul Gaultier said that he set to out create something that you would really want to wear and smells are important because they remind you of certain people. He wants people to smell Classique and think of him, and wants it to be good.
The design of the bottle gets much attention and praise for its design. When designing the bottle, Jean Paul Gaultier drew it out on the back on a napkin on a bus.
Classique is quite a sweet fragrance however not over the top and never fails to get plenty of compliments. The notes of this fragrance for the musky floriental include bergamot, orange blossom, rose, mandarin, aniseed, carnation, orchid, iris, ylang ylang, ginger, vanilla, wood, amber and musk.
I would recommend this fragrance for both day time and evening wear. You will be definitely noticed wearing this fragrance.
