Issey Mayake is a Japanese fashion designer, born in 1938 in Hiroshima. He first studied graphic arts in Tokyo and then fashion design in Tokyo and is best known for his technology driven clothing designs, exhibitions and fragrances.
Miyake s clothing walks a fine line between fashion and art and has been displayed both in the fashion world and in Art exhibitions.
Issey Miyake also has a line of perfumes, most famously L eau d Issey, which is thought to be a pun on the epic poem by Homer, The Odyssey. His fragrances for men include L eau Bleue D issey, L eau D issey Intense and L eau Bleue D issey Pour Homme.
