Fendi is known the world over for its chic bags, fragrances and furs and was founded by Adele Casagrande in 1918.
It began life as a leather and fur shop in Rome and adopted the Fendi name when Casagrande married Edoardo Fendi.
As the company grew the couples five daughters, Paola, Carla, Anna, Franca and Alda, also became involved in the business.
The mid 1960s saw the company merge with Karl Lagerfeld, known for developing the first fur collections.
He is also known for developing a branded status system for the firm. |
