It proved to be a shrewd move - the company was reinvigorated by the idea and t-shirts bearing fcuk became in-vogue thanks to their association with the f-word.

However, in America the brand was seen as more provocative than playful and sparked a loud debate over its appropriateness.

The brand also developed an fcuk range of fragrances and toiletries.
