Estee Lauder have always been at the cutting edge of cosmetic science, and this is evident as much as anywhere in their range of fragrances.
Ms Lauder herself started the company at the end of the Second World War by bringing out a skin cream that had been designed by her uncle, a chemist.
The cream was designed to bring out the beauty in every women, at a time when the world needed a bit of beatification, and it soon took off.
Before a label had even been established, the fanbase for Lauder’s cream had grown exponentially, so that when the Youth-Dew perfume, a revelation at the time, was released in 1953, Estee Lauder’s reputation as a innovative company made it a hugely popular eau de toilette.
Estee Lauder opened her first account outside America at Harr in London in 1960, and ever since, the collection of skincare, makeup and perfumes have continued to typify the best that art and science can achieve.
