Escada is a German based, international luxury fashion group founded by Margarethe and Wolfgang Ley in 1976.
Since that time, until her death in 1992, Margarethe Ley continued to hold the position of chief designer of the fashion house, specialising in women s clothes.
She promoted Escudo s reputation as clean, slick and sophisticated, creating the strong market appeal which she saw as just as important as creativity in the world of fashion.
Since Ley s death, her successor Michael Stoltenberg has injected a more youthful and modern perspective into Esacada s collections.
This can be seen in particular in the newer fragrance lines launched by Escada, with many of the eau de parfum ranges, such as Ibiza Hippie, Rockin Rio and Sunset Heat being based on a youthful image surrounding beach parties and hot holiday destinations.
