The Elizabeth Arden brand appeared in New York in 1912 and quickly became synonymous with cutting edge cosmetics.
The firm is credited with being among the first to introduce women to day-to-day cosmetics, creating a total look where the colours of lips, cheeks and fingernails match.
Some of the worlds most high profile women have known to be fond of its products, including Marilyn Monroe, Jackie Kennedy and Queen Elizabeth II.
The companys innovation led it to create a lip colour called Montezuma Red, which was the same shade as the red on women soldiers uniforms during the second world war.
It is well known for the Red Door fragrance, which comes from a range of day spas, but the company also licences the Britney Spears, Elizabeth Taylor and Mariah Carey brands. |
