The ultra-modern Italian fashion house actually has its beginnings as a consulting studio in the 1980s, when Domenico Dolce and Estefano Gabbana first set up together.
Dolce was born in Polizzi Generosa, Italy on August 13, 1958 and Estefano Gabbana was born in Milan Italy on November 14, 1962.
In 1982 the pair set the first business up together and three years later founded Dolce & Gabbana, with their first significant womens collection also appearing in 1985.
Down the years they have continued to expand their line, moving into knitwear in 1987, and beachwear, menswear, fragrances, jeans, glasses and a home collection through the eighties to the mid 1990s. |
