The hot Milan based fashion house is the lovechild of Domenico Dolce, born on August 13, 1958 in Polizzi Generosa, Italy and Estefano Gabbana, born on November 14 1962 in Milan.
Dolce and Gabbana as we now know it started life as a fashion consulting studio in 1982, but by 1985 the duo launched their first major women s collection.
Since then they have gone from strength to strength, designing a range of knitwear in 1987; beachwear in 1989;menswear in 1990; by 1992 they had a women s fragrance and the D&G line; 1994 saw the launch of men s fragrance and the home collection and then in 1996 they expanded to jeans and eyewear.
