DKNY

The DKNY story began in New York on October 2, 1948, when Donna Karan was born as Donna Faske.

It is perhaps not so surprising that her brand is now a world renowned icon, as both of her parents were involved in fashion.

Her big break came while she was still a student studying at Parsons school of design in New York – Anne Klein signed her up for a summer job.

When Klein died in 1974 Donna Karan stepped into her shoes and the rest is history.

She left the company after the line of Anne Klein was launched, then set up her own firm with her husband Stephen Weis.

Donna Karan New York (DKNY) has been a firm fashion fixture since its first collection was launched in 1985, before several other lines were developed.
