Christian Dior, born in 1905, entered the fashion world in 1938 working for Robert Piquet. Dior then set up his own fashion house in 1946, the success of Dior was phenomenal and his fashion house grew to a staggering 160 boutiques world wide. Dior went on to create a revolutionary process that made him a house hold name, which was to licence out his name to be used on stockings, accessories and even the perfume we sell.
In 1957 Christian Dior’s life came to an abrupt end and the fashion house that he lead to great success was taken over by an equally successful man, the little know at the time Yves Saint Laurent and has been handled by many other prestigious designers as well.
The first perfume released by Dior was Miss Dior in 1947 however Dior’s perfume line is probably best remembered for the Poison perfume that has sprouted an entire range of scents centred on the name.
